CMI Level 3 Award Principles of Management and Leadership
The CMI Level 3 Award is aimed at currently practising or aspiring managers that supervise or manage a team to achieve goals or defined outcomes set by the organisation.
The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is a professional institution for management that was founded in 1947 and was responsible for the UK’s first diploma in management studies. The CMI is backed by the Royal Charter, which means it is the only chartered professional body that can award the prestigious Chartered Manager status.
The CMI does not specify any entry requirements for this qualification, but training centres are required to ensure that learners have sufficient capability at the right skill level to complete the learning and assessment.
On completion of this qualification, learners are able to further progress learning within the Level 3 suite of qualifications in Principles of Management and Leadership, such as Certificate or Diploma level.
Learners may also wish to continue their ongoing personal and professional learning by accessing more comprehensive CMI qualifications, such as the CMI Level 5 Qualifications in Management and Leadership. Furthermore, they can achieve the professional title or goal of becoming a Chartered Manager.
Learners must select and complete 1 unit to a minimum of 40 Total Unit Time (TUT) hours, 4 credits to achieve this qualification.
The qualification is part of a suite of Principles of Management and Leadership qualifications, with more comprehensive options available:
